Product Description

A driveway alarm can be that extra layer of home security that you need! For those of you who already have an alarm system in place, a driveway alarm protects the parameter of your home and will instantly warn you of unwanted intruders. It can be useful for reasons beyond security too, as the driveway alarm can also give you that extra time to greet an approaching guest or to answer the door. Dakota is a long standing manufacturer of external alarms system and based in the USA.

This unique wireless system is designed for alarming gates and external doors using a battery powered transmitter and heavy duty magnetic contact switch which has a market leading transmission range of 900 metres back to the receiver.

A perfect solution to vulnerable locations that have no power or large animals wandering around.

The gate contact is fitted to the gate post, the universal battery powered tranmitter is fitted near the gate post located in the weatherproof box or inside a nearby building, and the magnet is fitted to the gate in a position that it is nearly touching the switch when the gate is closed.

The class leading wireless range is an impressive 900 metres (line of sight) back to the receiver.

The 4 channel receiver has 4- built in chimes, 4 x timed dry relay outputs (which can be used to activate dialers, sirens, lights, speech alarms and other accessories), a 12v DC output (to power sirens & flashing lights), a volume and on/off control and is powered by a plug in transformer using a standard 13-amp wall socket. You can use as many additional receivers or pagers as you need for your application.

You can use as many additional detectors as you want to grouping them into the four different channels which each make a different tune and trigger a different relay. The additional detectors can be any type from this range including Outdoor PIR's, Vehicle Probes, Indoor PIR's, Gate Switches, Rubber Hoses, Push Buttons, Security Mats, Door Contacts, Temperature Sensors, Water Sensors, please feel free to ask for advice.
Each detector can be individually set to work with any of the four channels.

Q. How much will the signal cut down through walls?
A. The signal is able to reach the receiver as much as a couple hundred feet through walls and terrain. Flatter and less obtrusive terrain will allow the signal to reach a remarkable 600 feet.

Q. How loud is the sound?
A. The sound reaches approximately 80 decibels, which is the equivalent of a ringing telephone.

Q. Is there an on and off switch?
A. Yes, the on/off switch can be found on the side of the WR-3000 receiver.

Q. What can the relays be used for?
A. The relay can be used to connect the base station to other existing systems such as alarm panels or doorbells.

Q. Will animals set it off?
A. The WMA-3000 uses a passive infrared beam meant to detect people, vehicles, and/or large animals. An average sized house pet will likely never set off the alarm, but those living in wooded areas where arge deer roam freely will find the unit's animal-detection properties beneficial.

Q. Will falling leaves, rain etc. trigger the sensor?
A. No. The unit is completely weatherproof, which means that it both sustains against the elements without becoming damaged, and is equipped with sophisticated technology able to decipher between natural events and large objects in motion.

I've been using Dakota Alert components going on 5 years. I live in a remote location and I do everything I can to protect my security. Sensor transmitters, each sending a different signal, line my 1/4-mile dirt driveway, so I know when someone approaches and exactly where they are on the road. If you let the battery in a sensor transmitter get to low, you will get spurious alerts, or not get alerts when you should. I've researched and looked at every alternative (there aren't that many), and there just isn't another product (unless you want to spend thousands) that comes close to Dakota gear. I also use the MURS components for longer range. The only wish I've had from Day 1 is that Dakota Alert only has 4 frequencies and tones. Six or 8 different frequencies would allow more zones to be protected.

It sounds silly, but it’s changed our lives. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us! It’s saved us from being broken into at 4 a.m., when the system went off and we crept out to find them breaking into our barn. We were almost on them when they scarpered. You’ve never seen anyone run so fast. They come with a lorry, you know. The neighbours were cleaned out800litres of fuel was taken.great product!
